NEW TO CUTTERFICS VERSION 2.0: Some of my original fiction and poetry has found its way to the light. ^_^ It's being housed here now, too, after all the fanfic categories and the fanpoetry. I would be honored and gratified if any of my fanfic readers gave it a chance. But no pressure. Also, just FYI, most of the fics that are housed on this site (i.e., they're not offsite links to GW Addiction) have been revised for Cutterfics 2.0. So if you've read something here before, it's entirely possible that it's different--hopefully in a good way--from when you first read it.

Explanation of how the hell the fanfics are organized: Hello and welome! This layout is basically part of an attempt to help me get a few things sorted out within my own mind. I've been doing a lot of thinking lately (most of it on my livejournal) about the way I'm writing fics and what that means. And so this page has gotten scrambled around in a way that will hopefully make it easier for me to figure out how I want to go about doing the things I want to do as well as where I need to concentrate. It might look a little confusing right now, but all the fics are still here. This is hopefully a temporary thing, and I've been unifying sections when I can. Thanks for bearing with me, and I hope it won't mess with you too much. ^_^

In that spirit, below you will find the Works (the majority of my fics), the Fantasies (what it sounds like, though what I label fantasy may differ from some people's definitions), and the Misfits (basically, everything else--the "wait, I'm not sure which this is" fics). Within each category they're in alphabetical order by fandom and within fandom, just like the old ficindex. Hope you enjoy!

Update 5/15/2005: The old Larks section (the "just for a laugh" fics) has been incorporated into the Works section.

Fanfic: Works

Fanfic: Fantasies

Fanfic: Misfits

My fanpoetry lives here, too, though I'm rather nervous about that, because poetry is personal.

All are from the GW fandom. Alphabetical order (in poetry, everything counts as a word).

Dorothy sketch
Didn't start out as a poem, but didn't end up as prose: this is a sketch of some aspects of Dorothy's personality I find fascinating, and her possible motivations.

Of Black Satin Your Need,
of Necessity My Armor

Yes, I had a specific speaker in mind.

Tangled
My first and probably favorite GW fanpoem.

My original fiction writings. Thus far they're all short works in first or second person, sort of encapsulations of imagined relationships or imagined moments. I guess I don't expect them to draw as wide an audience, because I think for most people fanfiction is why they're here. But that's okay. This writing has a place in my life, and perhaps it's more honest. In any case it is inarguably, unmitigatedly, immutably mine, as much as anyone can own any idea. Which makes me feel good, as well as prompts me to state for the record that if anyone should for any unthinkable reason decide to plagiarize me, I would be forced to gut them like a fish.

(On the other hand, if for some even more unthinkable reason someone decided to fanfic me, I really wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Not that I think anyone would, but--just so that we all know that I do realize where I stand.)

Here they are, in order of their writing.

Caging
A trio of vignettes. A woman's experience of herself and her lover.

Looking Down
The difference between human and divine love.

Disorient
This time the lover is male. This piece of fiction was written when I was in a pretty bad space.

Give Me An Opening
About a particular kind of obsession.

Untitled
A short little piece of intense sappiness written for lysapadin, inspired by this picture. It will help to look at the picture first.

My original poetry. I feel sort of doubly insecure about these, since not only are they personal because they're poetry (rip it to pieces and I am filled with joy; steal it and I eat your heart), but they can't even hide under the umbrella of a fandom. I don't even know how to preface them but to say that they are mine, and if you read them it would make me very happy.

In chronological order.

Moment
One of those realizations you have as you brush past someone you've known for years and suddenly think oh, shit.

無駄嵐
This poem is in Japanese. I did include a translation of it, but it didn't quite work as well in English. It's about sound and fury, and the people that mess you up without even knowing it. Note: This page works all right in Internet Explorer, but Firefox doesn't seem to like it very much. I apologize for my woeful technical inexpertise, which is no doubt the reason for this.

The Woman I Wanted
This is one of those poems where afterwards I look at the structure I picked and I'm not sure I like it, but at the same time I can't help but love the poem trapped within that structure, because it was the truest possible scratching out of what I felt at the time.

My Other Cheek
Written the same day as the previous poem (although they're not related at all), this has some of the same structural issues. But I think it also conveys what I was feeling: this is one of those duh moments.

Complicate

Essays is a new section. Just my thoughts on various things to do with various fandoms. Not so much here thus far, and so far they're poetic essays rather than classic academic essays. However, who knows what the future may bring.

On the Utena/Anthy pairing.
A play in three acts: one drabble and two double-drabbles that together represent some of my thoughts on Utena/Anthy. Written for marici.

One take on the Uo/Kyou pairing.
Just one of several possible takes on pairing Uo and Kyou from Fruits Basket. Written for Amet.
